Its official, CrossFit Football has been launched! Yep, that means that people who don’t see validity in the SPARK’s methods are tucking their tail pretty hard right now. For me this is extremely exciting because it validates everything we already do.
CrossFit has always contended that it forges elite fitness, which it does, especially in the realm of GPP - General Physical Preparedness. It will get you fit enough for anything, anywhere any time. Really great at a lot of things but not an expert in any. In other words, it is a tool. However, there are many skills that CrossFit ALONE does not address.
It has always been my contention that if you have specific sport goals and requirements you MUST practice those skills so you can be ready for their specific demands. Hence all the drills we do prior to the WOD.
I guess Sport Specific Training and Conditioning isn’t BS after all…weird.
